1920 

 

POPP was founded with production sites in Wrocław, Gliwice, Katowice, Dresden and Erfurt. The company’s headquarters and other sites were lost during the war years, as a result of which the company relocated to Kaltenkirchen in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.

1985 

 

POPP merged with the Kiel-based deli company, Dr. Schrödter. 

1988 

 

Majoritarian acquisition of Popp Feinkost GmbH by the Wernsing Group. 

1989 

 

Construction of a new site in Carl-Benz-Straße covering roughly 10,000 sqm for the production of fresh deli salads, bread spreads, fish specialities, convenience products, dressings, dips and mayonnaise.

1998 

 

Extensive expansion investments.

1999 

 

Acquisition Bruckmann, a Cologne-based manufacturer of deli foods.
